IRRIGATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Work to include:

I make a thorough inspection and evaluation of each irrigation (valve) zone on the property. I gather data from each zone: the size (square footage); the type of plantings (lawns, shrubs etc.); the number and type of sprinklers or drip emitters; the soil type; degree of slope; the solar exposure (sun or shade). I enter this data into an irrigation management computer program.  The computer program then calculates a watering schedule for each zone that irrigates the plantings with  just the amount of water that they have used to grow since their last irrigation.

I also prepare a list of repairs, adjustments and up-grades that need to be made in each zone to minimize water waste. The property owner can contract with their landscape gardener or an irrigation contractor to have the work done.

When the work is complete, I will program the irrigation controller with the computer generated schedule. I return to the site once a week for four weeks to monitor the performance of the the new schedule. During these visits, I check the soil moisture in each zone with a soil probe and fine tune the watering schedule if necessary.

Price:

$TBD per irrigation valve zone

Note: Upon completion of the four week period: 1) The homeowner or landscape gardener can continue to monitor the soil and plantings and adjust the irrigation controller as needed or 2) The owner can hire me to visit the property on a monthly or quarterly basis  (at a cost of  $TBD per visit) to monitor the system and reprogram the controller to reflect seasonal changes.

$TBD = Cost TO BE DETERMINED by the size and complexity of the irrigation system.
